Auto Finance News is pleased to announce Marcelo Brutti, president and chief executive at Hyundai Capital America, has been named the sixth annual Auto Finance Executive of the Year.
Before returning to lead the captive in April 2023, Brutti was chief risk officer at City National Bank for more than three years after serving as CRO at HCA from 2016 to 2019.
Brutti supports HCA’s three tenets of growth, diversification and innovation as the captive aims to be “the leader in financing mobility globally.”
HCA’s managed portfolio as of June 30 stood at $40.8 billion, up 19.1% year over year, according to an Oct. 2 S&P Global presale report of the captive’s most recent securitization issuance. Hyundai Motor America also has posted YoY sales increases for much of the year.
The executive of the year is chosen based on experience, leadership, company performance, vision and innovation. Past winners include Ally Financial’s Doug Timmerman, Capital One Auto Finance’s Ravi Ragu, Ford Credit’s Marion Harris, Bank of America’s Fabien Thierry and GM Financial’s Dan Berce.
“It’s a great honor to get this recognition. It’s a recognition that goes to the entire team,” Brutti told AFN. “It takes a village to do what we do; it takes our OEMs, our dealers, every single employee and support from headquarters. This is a recognition for everybody who works at and supports Hyundai Capital America in some way, shape or form.”
