The Motor Ombudsman (TMO) in the UK has added eight branches of Lindleys Autocentres to its Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair.
Lindleys Autocentres is a family-owned network of independent garages in Nottinghamshire.
Approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), TMO’s Service and Repair Code was introduced in May 2008 and is the organisation’s second longest-running Code of Practice.
Its primary aim is to uphold and enhance industry standards in vehicle servicing and repairs, benefiting consumers and businesses such as independent garages, franchised dealer workshops, and mobile repairers.
In addition to becoming part of the Service and Repair Code portfolio, Lindleys Autocentres will be able to display TMO and CTSI Approved Code logos in customer-facing areas, on literature, and online.
They will also benefit from increased visibility through individual profiles on TMO’s Garage Finder tool.

TMO’s chief ombudsman and managing director Bill Fennell said: “As we start a new year, we are very pleased to be expanding our coverage of Service and Repair Code-accredited businesses in Nottinghamshire, as we welcome Lindleys Autocentres to our network.
“Revered for its outstanding service and high-quality work, coupled with an unrelenting focus on customer satisfaction, the business has built a near-70-year reputation for excellence in the service and repair sector, and we are delighted to have them on board.”
Furthermore, all eight Lindleys Autocentres branches and their staff will be eligible for consumer nominations in the Midlands regional category of TMO’s annual Garage Star Awards, which open for entries in May.
Lindleys Autocentres owner David Lindley commented: “Accreditation to The Motor Ombudsman’s highly respected Service and Repair Code reinforces our dedication to the highest level of customer service and workmanship, and our core ‘consumer-first’ mantra.”
